Using Your Smartphone to Update Firmware

List of Compatible Devices

The J series and U series (The Q series and SF series do not support updates via smartphone. Please use the Epson View Uploader (PC) to update your firmware.)

Before Updating Firmware

  • Firmware updates may take up to an hour to complete.
  • Please ensure that you have the latest version of Epson View.
  • Set your smartphone and listed device to allow Bluetooth communication and activate pairing.
  • Connect your smartphone to the Internet. (Wi-Fi recommended)
  • Connect your listed device to the USB charger clip, and keep it charged.

(*) During the firmware update, if you detach your listed device from the clip or your smartphone is disconnected from Bluetooth, the update will be suspended.

How to Update Firmware

  1. 1.The application will notify you if there is new firmware you can use.

  1. 2.Tap “My Device” in the toolbar to display the My Device screen, and tap “Firmware.”

Using Your Smartphone to Update Firmware

  1. 3.Follow the instructions subsequently displayed on the screen.
  2. 4.When new firmware is sent to your listed device, your listed device will reset (※) and the firmware update will begin. During the update, the backlight of your listed device will turn on. It will take roughly three minutes before the backlight will turn off, and you will be able to use your listed device again (the screen will revert to either the clock screen or the charging screen).

(※)Your measured workout data, amount of activity data, preference information and other settings will not be deleted.

If you set the “automatic update” switch to ON at the firmware update screen, if you attach your listed device to the USB charger clip and charge it when there is new firmware, the firmware update will begin automatically.
